Jan-Willem Boode
Businiess Program Manager
Drs. Jan-Willem Boode graduated as a physicist at the University of Groningen and joined DSM Research as a material scientist in 1987. Throughout his long career he has always been active in the research, development and project management of polymer materials and bringing these innovations successful to the market.
After 13 years in various R&D roles, including electron microscopist, group lead material properties, product development specialist and executive secretary, he transferred to DSM Venturing & Business Development to gain business experience as sales and business development manager. He contributed to the creation of the DSM Biomedical business unit and the Bio-Medical Materials public-private partnership program. As business developer, Jan-Willem managed a portfolio of joint development projects in the cardio-vascular and local drug delivery area together with a multidisciplinary team of polymer experts, clinicians and medical device (start-up) companies.
Over the last 14 years he acted as senior project & program director for DSM Dyneema® and DSM’s Corporate Research Program. In this role he also actively contributed to the professionalization of the project management discipline via mentoring, coaching and training of junior project managers. After leaving DSM in 2022, he coordinated EU/NL-funded project consortia at TNO’s Materials Solution department before joining Hy2Care as Business Program Manager in 2023.
