COO Sanna Severins in Brightlands Impact Magazine
In the article “Polymer in the knee repairs cartilage”- published in the Brightlands Chemelot Campus IMPACT magazine - Sanna Severins, COO Hy2Care explains that she grew up in a rheumatism family and therefore knows how painful rheumatism is, which often results in osteoarthritis. “Now that I’m at Hy2care, everything has kind of come full circle for me. We treat cartilage defects that, without proper treatment, come with a high risk of chronic osteoarthritis.”
Hy2Care’s CartRevive™ hydrogel implant has been developed to enable optimal cartilage repair in the knee. The hydrogel is based on joint-tissue mimicking natural polymers; it aims to protect the injured site and allow patient’s own cells to enable cartilage recovery.
In 2025, Hy2Care wants to enter the market. To do this, there are some challenges to overcome: “We will still have to convince people that our product is a cost-effective and high-quality alternative to the existing techniques. All in a day’s work for a startup. If you can handle the uncertainty, it does give you incredible energy!”
